Sarah McPherson
Sarah is a Senior Associate with over 10 years’ experience, specialising in matrimonial and family law.
Having experience dealing with a diverse range of clients, Sarah advises on a variety of family related matters including financial provision on divorce, care arrangements for children, cohabitation, and guardianships. Sarah also takes particular interest in wealth planning, advising clients on pre-nuptial and pre-cohabitation agreements. She is committed to the constructive and creative resolution of matters for clients.
She is keen to explore alternative ways to resolve family disputes, by bringing parties round the table to chair discussions, by pragmatically negotiating with agents, and discussing the potential and benefit for mediation between parties if appropriate. Although Sarah resolves the majority of her cases amicably or via negotiation, she is equally as comfortable litigating on behalf of her clients.
Sarah regularly appears in the Sheriff Courts for a range of hearings, including Child Welfare Hearings, and has experience with raising actions and instructing Counsel in the Sheriff Appeal Court and the Court of Session.
Sarah is a member of the Family Law Association and the Aberdeen Bar Association.
